Don
/Jaaneman, Om Shanti Om/Saawariya, Fashion/Golmaal Returns…. These are the films which have clashed in this festival Week in last three years and the films which are in bold hit the jackpot. This year, we again have three big films releasing the same day.

One of them is “All the Best" which is produced by Ajay Devgn’s home Production, "Ajay Devgn Productions". All The Best starring Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse & others is directed by Rohit Shetty, the maker of Golmaal Series (Golmaal & Golmaal Returns). Although, the former is a cult today, the latter disappointed the critics. So, it will be interesting to see whether the director can silence his critics with his latest film.

Expectations: Now, when you know that it's a comedy and that too by the maker of Golmaal, you expect a lot. But, when you also have other films like Blue & Main Aur Mrs. Khanna releasing on the same day, you feel that All The Best will be last choice. Still, I went for the first show to catch this film because of Sanjay Dutt, Rohit Shetty & Ajay Devgn.

Script/Story: The story is said to be inspired from an American play – “Right Bed, Wrong Husband” which has been smartly scripted into a film by Rohit, Robin & Yunus. There are minor flaws in the screenplay but the crafting makes it look better. The entry of all the characters is done with excellence & is hilarious. The story is about mistaken identities but the writers have added a lot of other characters which makes it great fun but a little lengthier. Good

Acting: Acting department has to score in comedies and All the Best has the right actors, all it needed was the right performances. It gets lucky in that too all the actors have done justice. Sanjay Dutt has given one of the best performance of his career and is top notch, He looks so much in form Ajay Devgn has once again given a decent performance, Fardeen Khan is ok, Bipasha Basu is good and Mughda Godse is wasted because she is hardly seen. Other artists have done good, a special mention for Johnny Lever who has done a great job. Good

Music: Pritam has had a great year and I have been saying this since last few weeks and All The Best compliments it. The music is good and suits the mood of the film, although it seems too loud when heard without the visuals. I love almost all the tracks. Good

Direction: When you have a Golmaal behind, it’s not hard to get big budget and when you have the leading actor as a producer, it becomes all more easier. The director has literally blown up cars in the beginning itself. After getting bashed out by critics in his last film, Rohit Shetty is in full form and has tried to create something great. He seems to have hit the jackpot and this film is better than his last film Golmaal Returns. Good

Overall, the film is good, exceeds the expectations, makes you laugh and is better than Golmaal Returns. Watch it for its humor, music, direction & Sanjay Dutt. Also, I think this is the best bet out of the three films released this weekend.

My Rating: ***&1/2 (Very Good)
Story/Script: ***
Acting: ****

Music: ***
Direction: ***

At the box office, it should emerge a hit due to the strong feedback from Audiences & Critics.
My Box Office Verdict: Average/Semi Hit

Recommended for everyone who has about 3 hours to spare.
